7,471 posts are vacant in government schools. At the same time, 2215 posts of lecturer and 5,256 posts of assistant teacher are vacant. It is expected that the selection process for these posts will be completed before the Lok Sabha elections.

For the recruitment of teachers of Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Council, candidates should have passed graduation from a recognized university. Apart from this, there should be a diploma or degree in B.Ed, D.L.Ed or BTC. Also must have passed in UPTET.
